Central Whidbey Little League is a 100% volunteer run non-profit organization. To ensure a successful season for our players and help keep our registration rates low, we require each member to complete one shift in the concession stand per participant, and/or volunteer in another capacity. If you did not choose a volunteer role during registration, one will automatically be assigned to you during the season.
- Team Level: Manager, coach, assistant coach, team parent, umpire, game or practice field prep
- League Level: Board Member, Fundraising, Volunteer Organizer, and Concessions
- Special Event Level: Field Work Day, Family Fun Day, concession stand shift
ALL VOLUNTEERS WITH CWLL MUST COMPLETE A VOLUNTEER APPLICATION, PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND COMPLETE ABUSE AWARENESS TRAINING . To your right on this page you will see a link to the current required volunteer form. Abuse Awareness Training is available for free through USABaseball. When you sign up, choose Central Whidbey Little League as your affiliate League. This will allow us to verify completion of the course and clear you to volunteer.
Training is available for all positions. If you are interested in learning more, please email the CWLL Board at [email protected]. We would love your input and contribution!
Umpires are always one of our greatest needs! No experience is necessary and training is provided. Without umpires, games will be forfeited and players lose the play time they practice so hard for.
If you or anyone you know would like to help by being a plate or field umpire contact us at [email protected] for details.
Central Whidbey Little League and District 11 along with our current experienced umpires will help get you up to speed. FREE Online training is also available through Little League University.
Concession Stand Volunteering
This is one of the most important volunteer roles to commit to as we raise a third of our operating budget through our concession sales, and we cannot do it without you!
Every season has approximately 20 home games to support, which is amazing and provides community members and families with some good outdoor time and lasting memories. Who doesn't like a tasty burger or hot dog at a ball game?
CONCESSION SIGN UP
Once game schedules have been confirmed, a Sign up Genius link will be distributed to all members and posted here. When selecting slots and dates, please note whether you have a food worker card. Food worker cards are required for anyone in the stand handling food. If you do not have a card, it is easy to obtain, is valid for 2 years and isn't just for use with CWLL. Cashiers do not need a food worker card.
Follow this link to complete the food servers training and obtain a Food Worker Card:

This is also a great opportunity if you have older children still in High School. They can receive volunteer hours along with building their resume. If you have any questions or concerns contact us.
Thanks for "stepping up to the plate" for Central Whidbey Little League!!
